So what should we call ‘citizen journalism’?
By Andrew Grant-Adamson • Jul 9th, 2006 • Category: Internet, Journalism, LanguageI am pleased Jeff Jarvis has amplified his views, expressed on Buzzmachine earlier this week, about the use of the term “citizen journalism”. He suggested “networked journalism” might be a better. I disagreed.
His comment on my post makes it clear that we share similar concerns. He concludes: “And the larger the network, the better for journalism and for an informed society, eh?” Of course, it is.
I have never been comfortable with the term “citizen journalism”, but cannot come up with a better one. Jeff Jarvis has started a debate and the wider the network that becomes involved the better.
