Opposition to mergers and swaps plan emerges

He says Chris Bullivant, chairman of the family-owned Observer Standard Group, based in Worcestershire, has written to the Office of Fair Trading to register his “total objection” to the call for a relaxation of media ownership regulations.
Greenslade has some strong comments from Mr Bullivant’s letter including: “The reality is that all of these large groups built themselves on a sea of debt which has become unrepayable.”
I’m glad opposition is emerging to a scheme which on Sunday I described as “clutching at straws”.
